Companion (2025)

Rating: 7 of 10 Stars

Companion (2025) is a visually striking film that tackles some pretty big ideas about technology and human connection. Set in a future where relationships with AI are becoming the norm, the movie does a great job exploring themes of isolation and the ways we rely on technology to fill emotional gaps.

The performances really stand out here-especially the lead actors, who have great chemistry and make the characters' relationships feel real, even when dealing with such futuristic concepts. The cinematography is also gorgeous, contrasting cold, high-tech environments with the warmth of human emotion.

That said, the film does have a few pacing issues and some secondary characters who don't get enough development. The plot also can feel a bit predictable, especially when it comes to the relationship between the human characters and their AI companions. Still, despite these minor issues, the film's emotional depth and thought-provoking ideas make it a solid watch.

In the end, Companion is an enjoyable and insightful experience, even if it's not without its flaws. I'd give it a 7/10-definitely worth checking out, but there's room for a bit more polish.
